Advertising Documentary: Questions What is the purpose of advertising? The purpose of advertising is to get media products out to people everywhere such as an advert for shampoo could be advertised on buses or posters scattered around places where people are frequently passing allowing for more people to see their advert about their product. What is a target market? A target market is a specific part of the market the product is trying to be seen under such as a shampoo bottle will be under lifestyle. How does advertising work? Advertising works by the company of the product uses 10-15% of their budget to design and create the advert so that it has a USP (Unique Selling Point) and the rest of the budget is used to spread the advert everywhere so that the audience will see its message. This advert is to introduce a new range of LYNX Gold aftershave to the market. The advert is to promote the LYNX brand using the famous boxer Anthony Joshua,the advert is trying to say that you will smell like Anthony Joshua who is a big UK boxer. 2. Who is the target audience? The demographics of the advert is targeted at 16-32 year old mostly aimed at males of all races with statuses of C2, D and E as the product is cheap to buy and is a well known brand in the UK now sponsering Anthony Joshua which reaches out to all of his fans as it is cheap and affordable. Depict Evaluation What was the task? The task was to film a 90 second short film that was creative and well produced film of any unique idea. What was your idea? The idea of the 90 second film we have created was a mime who is stuck in a glass box and is trying to get out checking every chance of escape to exit the glass box where the mime is locked inside. What planning documentation / processes did you have to complete  how much input did you have? Did you "pull your weight"? The documentation we had to complete was the planning stage of the Depict porject which was to spend a week or two to complete the filming stage which was filmed in the glass corridor within the college premisses meaning that we had to get a signature from the caretakers to allow us to film at the location and publish it legally. The editing stage floowed after the filming stage meaning that we had at least a week to complete the editing phase and complete our projects ready for submissio...
