Why did you pick East Norfolk Sixth Form College?

The reason for my pick for East Norfolk Sixth Form College was due to the amount of opportunities that this College can provide, the amount of courses that they teach gives the College a good representation as it can provide a large variety of students with A Levels and BTEC results that will help with your future. 87 Courses is a great number of courses that students may choose and will also mean that there isn’t a large number of teachers dedicated to one subject,

What subjects are you interested in?

·         Computer Science

·         Esports

·         Games Development

·         Graphics

Esports seems like an interesting course as I find the subject interesting due to my hobbies outside of the College.

Esports is defined as organised competitive gaming, which is human versus human, either as individuals or in teams. The esports industry is a fast-growing global industry. In February 2019, Newzoo published its 2019 Global Esports Market Report. This states that, in 2018, the global esports market was valued at 655 million U.S. dollars. Tis rose to nearly 865 million U.S. dollars in 2019 and is projected to reach 1.79 billion U.S. dollars in in 2022.

We know that esports is only going to continue to grow and therefore, we need to prepare learners with the skills and knowledge they need to not only pursue their dream career, but also the confidence that they are progressing within a sector where there are jobs and opportunities.

During the two-year course you will study a broad range of topics, all essential to building a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the sector. Learners will develop technical skills that enhance their ability to create and take part in Esports events, whilst also gaining fundamental knowledge about the industry and how to succeed within it. Business and Science feature heavily and are essential components for those seeking a career in this field. You will develop a keen understanding of how to stay safe and healthy whilst taking part in Esports events and also how to pursue a viable and secure financial future in the industry.
